Arrived in Amman after 32+ hours of traveling and 0 hours of sleep. We left at 5 in the morning Pacific time on Saturday, and got to our hotel at 10 pm Jordan time on Sunday.
On Monday we drove down to Petra and spent the day hiking around this amazing, ancient city. Here’s a picture of the famous treasury building (Indiana Jones the Last Crusade, anyone?). This is only the tip of the Petra iceberg. On Tuesday we drove back up to Amman, stopping at Mt. Nebo, which has beautiful views of the Great Rift Valley, the Dead Sea, Jericho and Israel. Today we are heading up to Jerash, one of the best preserved Roman cities in the world and then are taking a late flight to Cairo.
