I realize this goes against everything I stand for as a young adult (and a former teenager) but I can’t help but LOVE my game theory textbook. I know, I know, it’s impossible to love a textbook. That’s what I thought, too. So you’ll imagine my surprise when I opened this 1st edition Games, Strategies and Decision Making by Joseph E. Harrington, Jr., and truly enjoyed reading it.
In the first chapter alone, Harrington makes references to things like James Bond, Star Trek, Harry Potter, the 3 Stooges, Galileo and Michael Moore. He even invents a new gender-neutral pronoun “h’orsh’it” (sound it out); a colorful blend of “he” or “she” and “it”.
